This presentation will focus on research and current recommendations related to the care provided to spine-injured athletes in both the pre-hospital and early in-hospital settings. Dr. Del Rossi will share his better than 20 years of experience researching and publishing manuscripts in this critical area of practice for athletic trainers.

Objectives:

1. Review the current research and evidence related to management of the spine-injured athlete.
2. Explore and discuss the evidence underpinning current spine care recommendations in sport.
3. Update and implement current practices and recommendations from the 2015 Interassociation Task for the Appropriate Care of the Spine Injured Athlete into current practice.
